Part of our stay was great, the other part was horrible, so I wasn't sure how to rate this. We were in town for 2 nights because my son had a swim meet at FGCU. We arrived late on a Friday (9pm) and had to be up at 5:30 the next morning. I explained this to the young man at the front desk. Unfortunately, he chose a room for us that faced the "Backyard Social." Long story short, it's across the road and is a LOUD outdoor dance party that lasts until 2am. When I inquired at 10:30pm about the noise (which I don't blame on the hotel at all--I get it's not their fault), he told me it would be done by midnight. I figured we were close enough anyway that it didn't make sense moving rooms at that point. But when midnight came and went, and the room was still rattling from the massive base across the road, I looked up the Backyard Social and saw it went until 2am. I tried to contact the young man again and ask why 1) he would put us in the room facing this party (when there were other rooms away from the party available), and 2) why he would say it ended at midnight when it really ended at 2am. There was a new guy on staff who said he had no idea why the first guy would have told me that and that we could switch rooms in the morning. He said they were very aware of the issue, had called the county about a noise ordinance, and there was nothing they could do. I asked if they had earplugs around 1am. He said "we don't sell earplugs, sorry." Excuse me what? Why on Earth wouldn't you hand out earplugs to your guests if you are fully aware of this issue (which occurs daily, by the way). To fast forward, we got 3 hours of sleep and my son did one hell of a job trying to compete the next day. We came back to the hotel after, moved to another room on the other side of the building and slept for 12 hours straight. No noise on that side of the building whatsoever. The lady on staff the next day was very helpful finding us a room that would be quiet. Long story short: if you're going to stay here, ask for a room facing Alico Rd. DO NOT stay anywhere near room 104. Oh, our toilet was also broken when we got there (the mechanism inside was broken so it wouldn't flush unless we took the top off the tank and did it from there). The maintenance man had left for the day, so there was nothing they could do at that time. Minor details compared to the 3 hours of sleep and throbbing headache I had for the entire second day. Not sure I would ever stay here again unless I could be guaranteed a room away from the party.

Pros:This was our second stay at HS and it was as good as the first. We love the fact we don't have to worry about where to eat breakfast and dinner each day. Mon-Thur. The food was great with good choices and was always presented in a very nice fashion. The HS seems to be run so well we always felt welcome the whole time. All of the staff were friendly and helpful especially Estrella and Luz Maria who handled the breakfast and evening meals. They were so nice. We really liked the open layout of our suite. We didn't feel boxed in like their competitors rooms. The room and bathroom were clean and kept that way through our 4 day stay. We had no parking problems. You are right across from Gulfcoast shopping center with Pro Bass Shop and others. Check-in and out was simple as we booked through Kayak/Hotel.com. The beds were also very comfortable.

Pros:The staff brought up an extra matress for the pullout bed, which was a nice gesture. The mattress was comfortable.

Pros:We loved the room layout of the king suite. Nice an open not boxed off like the other chain hotel we stayed in before. Had a full size fridge and small two burner stove and micro.even a dish washer too. The breakfast was great each day with plenty of cut fruit,oatmeal,yogurt,make your own waffles,toast ,pastries,plus fresh blueberries and blackberries for toppers. There was also a lite fare from 5-7pm Mon-Thursday. We stayed these 4 days and never had to go any where for meals except our lunches. The evening fare was enough for us each night. You have a soup and salad plus some nights rice and stir fry with chicken another was tacos and pulled pork. It's also all you care to eat so you won't starve.you know ahead I of time what's being served. You also have wine and beer for drinks. This is a great place to stay if you are on a budget. The entire staff at the hotel was great. The check in was quick and the servers at meal times always kept everything fresh and full. We really looked forward to not having to hunt for a place for our main meals everyday. The hotel was just the right size for us kind of cozy not a giant monstrosity with people always coming and going at all hours. They certainly had everything we needed fo our stay. We were very happy.
Cons:Really no negatives to think of. But I'm sure people will complain about everything just to be whining. We are easy to please people. We just want nice clean facilities it doesn't have to be fancy and Homewood Suites was this and more.
